Who we are
Trellis is church management software operated by Brandon Banks. Churches use it for their directory, serving schedules, and children’s check-in. This policy covers the Trellis website, the Trellis Check-In app for iPad, and the emails Trellis sends.
Your church is in charge
Your church decides what it keeps in Trellis, and we hold that information on the church’s behalf. We are responsible directly only for what we need to run Trellis, such as sign-in details and server logs.
For questions about your record, your church is the quickest place to ask. If you ask us, we will work with your church to respond.
What we collect
- Directory details: name, email, phone, address, birthdate, gender, photo, household, and membership.
- Serving schedules and availability.
- Children’s check-in: attendance, rooms, pickup details, and allergies.
- Sign-in and technical records that keep Trellis secure.
Being in a church’s directory reveals religious affiliation. We treat that, like allergy information, as sensitive.
Children
Children do not have Trellis accounts. Their information is entered by a parent or guardian, or by church staff, and allergy details are shown to the volunteers caring for them. The church is responsible for getting a parent’s consent where the law requires it, including under COPPA. Parents can ask their church, or us, to review, correct, or remove their child’s information.
How we use it
Only to provide Trellis to your church. We do not sell your information, show ads, or use analytics or tracking, and we send no marketing email. Trellis uses only the cookies needed for sign-in and security.
Who can see it
- People in your church, according to the roles it assigns.
- Companies that run parts of Trellis for us (hosting, storage, and email delivery), only to provide that service. Our servers are in the United States.
- Anyone the law requires us to disclose it to.
Keeping and deleting it
We keep information while your church uses Trellis. To have yours erased, ask your church or email us, and we will remove or anonymize it within 30 days. If a church stops using Trellis, we delete its information when it asks.
Security
Connections are encrypted, and each church’s information is kept separate. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your church’s information, we will tell the church without undue delay.
Changes and contact
We will update the date above when this policy changes, and tell churches before any significant change. Questions or requests: contact@trellisresources.com.
